Additional condominium lots have opened at Conservancy Place, a 650-acre master planned community in DeForest, which includes single-family homes, condominiums, and eventually apartment units, office and commercial park, retail center and more.
Jim Ring, president of Park Towne Development, the Madison-based firm creating the mixed used Conservancy Place, said one lot will allow up to 68 condominiums to be built with the other available for up to 27 units.
Conservancy Place, under development for the last three years, includes the sold-out Woods Glen subdivision in Phase One, with 30 homes built in the Hawthorn Point subdivision and more lots available. Additional subdivisions and neighborhoods will continue to be developed over the next l0 years.
Located on River Road between County Highway V and Highway 19, Conservancy Place focal point is the 3.5 miles of the Yahara River that runs through the property, the approximately 200 acres of open space and the walking trails through the woods and along the river. Four of the seven miles of walking trails are complete. The plan calls for connecting neighbors and businesses with walkways and bike trails.
Conservancy Place is being created with innovative sustainable design including infiltration swails along streets, use of natural and recycled materials, rain gardens and a 75-foot buffer within the wetlands to protect the Yahara River.
Conservancy Place has appealed to buyers interested in sustainable design, nature and conservation, Ring said. Several homebuyers have followed the Green Built stands. One home is built of concrete for energy efficiency and another features a solar design.
