Underneath the snow, there’s an innovative new public park just waiting to be explored and enjoyed at the 650-acre Conservancy Place commercial and residential development in DeForest. Conservancy Commons Park is an extraordinary feature in a community unlike any other in Wisconsin: It’s located at Conservancy Place, a Master-Planned Community that rivals some of the finest in the country, and consists of a 650-acre residential and commercial development set right in DeForest. This innovative development is Park Towne Development Corporation’s latest, and according to Executive Vice President of Land Services Joe Ring, the three-acre Conservancy Commons Park, at the heart of the development, will be opening this spring for everyone in the DeForest community to enjoy.
Being very family-oriented, the Park will include a children’s spray water feature to open next summer, wide open play areas for kids, on-site restroom facilities and a canopy-covered natural stone shelter with picnic tables that can comfortably seat at least 80 people, making it a true community gathering place. Conservancy Commons Park has been built to accommodate visitors of all ranges of physical ability. The park includes swings and slides for people in wheelchairs as well as poured rubber base in areas that make play equipment and walkways accessible for those utilizing walkers and wheelchairs. If you’re hoping to find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy nature, Conservancy Commons Park won’t disappoint you: You’ll find landscaped gardens, natural prairie planting restoration, and benches that will offer a place to rest and take in the beauty of it all.
More than 200 acres of Conservancy Place remains as open space, most of which is in its natural state, including a pristine 3.5 mile stretch of the Yahara River, which winds through the property, adding relaxing sounds to the breathtaking landscape. Respect for nature is something Park Towne hasn’t left to chance: Ring points to the storm water control, infiltration systems, rain gardens and natural buffers using native plants as examples of what makes Conservancy Place one of the largest residential and commercial developments in the Midwest to integrate a multitude of conservation practices right from the start.
63 homes and 20 condominiums have already been built at Conservancy Place, offering residents the chance to live nestled in nature. More residential lots, a 140-acre business park, and retail stores are also planned in the area, making it the perfect place to live, work and play.
